چکیده

We investigate a gauged matrix model in the large N limit which is closely related to the superconductor fluctuation and the flux lattice melting in two dimensions. With the use of saddle point method the free energy is expanded up to eighth order for the coupling constant g. In the case that the coefficient of quadratic term of the Ginzburg-Landau matrix model is negative, a critical point g = g c is obtained in the large N limit and the relation between this phase transition and the 2D flux lattice melting transition is discussed.

Flux-lattice melting in artificially layered superconductors.

We apply a previously described lowest-Landau-level formalism to treat flux-lattice melting in artificially layered superconductors, using Monte Carlo methods. For a pin-free layered system, the model predicts a single phase transition with simultaneous ordering both within one layer and between layers. The melting curve calculated using this model agrees reasonably well with experiments of Koo...

Comment on ”Vortex Liquid Crystal in Anisotropic Type II Superconductors” The suppression of superconductivity in type II superconductors

Comment on " Vortex Liquid Crystal in Anisotropic Type II Superconductors " The suppression of superconductivity in type II superconductors is associated with the melting transition of the lattice of flux quanta [1, 2, 3]. Most melting phenomena in Nature are thermodynamic first-order phase transitions. An analytic description of melting is thus difficult since there is no good handle, such as ...

First-order flux-lattice melting of a frustrated XY model with a

magnetic field B5F0( 1 3 , 1 3 , 1 3 ), using Monte Carlo simulation. There is a clear first-order phase transition with a latent heat of melting of about 0.11kBTm per superconducting grain at a melting temperature Tm'0.70J , where J is the intergrain coupling energy. We briefly discuss the possible relation of this transition to fluxlattice melting in high-Tc superconductors. @S0163-1829~96!00...

Nature of Decoupling in the Mixed Phase of Extremely Type-ii Layered Superconductors

The uniformly frustrated layered XY model is analyzed in its Villain form. A decouple pancake vortex liquid phase is identified. It is bounded by both first-order and secondorder decoupling lines in the magnetic field versus temperature plane. These transitions, respectively, can account for the flux-lattice melting and for the flux-lattice depinning observed in the mixed phase of clean high-te...

Dimensional and Flux Lattice Transitions in Artificially Layered Superconductors

Artificially layered materials are ideal model systems to tune the dimensionality of the superconducting order as well as the structure of the flux line lattice. Our extensive studies of Pb/Ge multilayers indicate that the anisotropy of the upper critical field H,, strongly depends on the Ge separator thickness d,, . The dimensional crossover from D = 3 towards D = 2, which is revealed by an up...
